Advantages of the SunWize Neighborhood Solar Program

The SunWize Neighborhood Solar Program is designed to promote residential solar power by encouraging people to band together and realize a volume discount on their systems. Through the program, SunWize teams with neighborhoods, homeowner associations, and municipalities to organize meetings and provide education to interested homeowners.

By encouraging their neighbors to go solar, homeowner champions are able to enjoy financial benefits through the discounts and solar rebates and will also increase the positive impact on the environment by growing from just one residential solar home system to many.

A solar neighborhood in Lake Elsinore, CA took advantage of the SunWize neighborhood solar program.
Many of the residents in a Lake Elsinore, CA neighborhood installed a home solar system at the same time. SunWize negotiated a volume discount for the homeowners and they enjoyed substantial savings on the cost of their solar systems.

How it Works:

Launching a program is simple.

Step 1 Schedule a “kick-off” meeting
The group representative or solar champion, contacts SunWize to schedule a kick-off meeting. We team up to promote and host an introductory meeting. This meeting consists of an educational home solar power systems presentation, explanation of the program, and a Q&A session conducted by one of our SunWize solar experts.

“We often encounter enthusiastic solar champions and we wanted a way to empower them to energize their friends and neighbors."
David Kaltsas,
Executive Vice President at SunWize
Step 2 Start the clock
The kick-off meeting initiates the program and it runs for a period of 60 days, during which time the group engages participants. SunWize will support the group and be happy to present and answer questions at additional meetings, if needed.

Each interested homeowner receives a free site evaluation and quotation for their solar panels system.

Step 3 Sign up and save
During the 60 day period, SunWize completes site evaluations and quotations for custom-designed systems for each interested homeowner.  The number of homeowners that enter into contract are tallied and the discounts are awarded based on the total number of program participants.

Step 4 Installation
Shortly after contracts are signed, SunWize rolls into the neighborhood and installs the systems, the neighborhood goes solar!

The discount is taken off of the market price for each given installation. Each installation is custom-designed to the homeowner’s needs taking into consideration energy requirements and available roof space in addition to aesthetic and customer budget requirements. The discount is on top of any Federal energy tax credit.
